Ten DOROTHY contestants all live in a highly stylized, modern high-tech house called THE OZ HOUSE, located in Las Vegas. Contestants are eliminated weekly until one is chosen to BE THE NEXT DOROTHY.

Similar to other ‘talent search’ reality shows like “American Idol” and “Surreal Life”, this reality series consists of contestants and judges. What differentiates this reality series from the others is that instead of sitting, quarantined behind a desk, the judges (the cast of “Wizard”) live in the THE OZ HOUSE with the contestants. While their credibility as top notch performers is always upheld, the cast of “Wizard”,  with their zany, “over the top” character like personalities lend great humor and interest to the plot. In contrast to the expected format of ‘judges who we never get to see behind the scenes’,  we have a voyeuristic view of these judges, their flaws and foibles. (Imagine Simon and Paula sharing a house with the Idols).

The tone and look of the show is be “over the top”, bright and campy (think HR Puff-n-Stuff meets Tele-tubbies). The editing style should be highly stylized to incorporate graphics a la Batman circa 70’s (details below). When you enter the property, it should be as as if you have fallen down the rabbit hole (please excuse the mixed metaphor) and  “Little People” are buzzing around everywhere keeping THE OZ HOUSE...

Another unique element is, Mary, the TV HOST  (the ‘Ryan Seacrest’)  lives in THE OZ HOUSE with the cast and the DOROTHY’S. Mary, is one of the original co-producers of “Wizard”, and is also wife of one of the cast members. Suggested to play the ‘eerily normal one’ , the DEN MOTHER, Mary, the former DOROTHY on the road tour, has an invested interest in finding her replacement. She always keeps a cautious eye on her husband.
